Europe Trip, August 2007

Rothenburg, Aug 16

We decided to visit Rothenburg, which is the best-preserved medieval city
in Europe. On the way, we drove past many huge
windmills used to generate power.

Rothenburg was amazing. It looked like a movie set. The buildings were all so
well preserved, and the city is surrounded by a medieval wall, just
like it was 500 years ago.

We ate lunch outside a cafe on the town square, where a youth choir from
Calgary, Alberta was singing on the steps of the town hall.

At 2:00 the clock chimed, and some weird figurines appeared from behind
shutters. The guy on the right drank from his stein ve-e-e-r-r-y-y-y slowly.
